Motorists Encouraged To Use Extreme Caution |
Motorists
Encouraged To Use Extreme Caution High winds have created soundside flooding in low lying areas throughout Dare County. Currently, the only restricted travel is on Colington Road where one lane of traffic is closed. All roads and bridges are open in Dare County; however, motorists are encouraged to use extreme caution due to standing water on roadways, particularly along Highway 12 on Hatteras Island, Colington Road and other low lying secondary roads. Current conditions are expected to remain and are not expected to improve until early Tuesday morning when winds subside and shift to the north. No ferries are operating between Hatteras and Ocracoke Island. Call 1-800-BY-FERRY for updated ferry information. |
