In September 2004, Dare County began selling surplus property via the Internet. Property is auctioned through an online auction service called GovDeals. This service offers the citizens of Dare County an opportunity to purchase surplus items year round as opposed to an annual County auction. In order to find out what surplus items Dare County currently has available for auction, simply click on the GovDeals logo or visit the GovDeals website at www.govdeals.com, click on “Advanced Search”, and then select Dare County from the list of sellers. If Dare County is not listed, there are no surplus items currently available for auction. You may want to bookmark the website since surplus items are listed as they become available. You must register with GovDeals in order to bid on an item, but you do not have to register to view items that are available. All items are sold “as is” and Dare County reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
