SEARCH WARRANT LEADS TO “GRAY DEATH” SEIZURE IN KILL DEVIL HILLS NORTH CAROLINA

On July 7, 2017, Dare County Narcotics Task Force* conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of West Durham Street, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948. During the search approximately two ounces of what is believed to be “Gray Death” was located and seized. “Gray Death” is a mixture of Carfentinal, Fentanyl and Heroin and can be a high-potency recipe for death as the name states. Fentanyl is approximately 50 times more potent than Heroin and Carfentinal is approximately 100 times more potent than Fentanyl. Where Fentanyl can be found in pain management, Cartentinal is used as a large animal tranquilizer such as Elephants. “Gray Death” is described as looking like a concrete mixture gray in color and found in chunks or powder form. If this is indeed the deadly mixture, it would be the first seizure of “Gray Death” in Dare County and a significant one. Overdoses continue to happen and this amount of the drug could have contributed to an untold amount of overdoses and deaths. See below for arrest information;
