Disaster Survivor Assistance Team Returns
A Disaster Survivor Assistance Team (DSAT) will return to Hatteras Island beginning Saturday, November 19 through Wednesday, November 23. On Saturday, November 19, Disaster Survivor Assistance Team members will be canvassing neighborhoods sharing information on FEMA’S Individual Assistance Program. DSAT Team members will also be located at the Dare County Satellite Campus in Frisco from Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 23 working alongside Dare County staff to answer disaster survivor questions and concerns.
In addition, Dare County Emergency Management has requested that a mobile Disaster Recovery Center return to Hatteras Island when it is available to give residents additional time to meet one on one with FEMA representatives regarding requests for disaster assistance.
FEMA recently announced a Disaster Recovery Center will open in Duck, NC and the center will operate for two days, Wednesday, November 23 and Friday, November 25. It will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24.
