Through a partnership with the Albemarle Commission, meals are served at the Dare County Center promptly at 12:00 noon Monday through Friday, except holidays, giving older adults an opportunity for socialization while enjoying a nutritionally balanced meal. If you would like to attend the congregate nutrition program, you must call the Center at 475.9279 48 hours in advance to order your meal.
Meals are also provided for homebound older adults who are at least 60 years of age and unable to prepare meals or participate in a group nutrition program.
If you would like to volunteer to deliver meals to homebound clients, please call the Nutrition Site Coordinator at 475.9279, or stop by the Dare County Center. You can volunteer one day per month for about an hour, or you can give more time. This is a great way to help those in need and is very rewarding.
