This 1/6 scale model of a Fairchild 24
was given to the Dare County Regional Airport in memory of Lt.
William Paul Bridges, CAP, by the Bridges family. Built by
George Rhorbaugh of Manteo this model is like the aircraft
that Lt. Bridges leased to the government during World War II and
was flown by the Civil Air Patrol at Base 16, Manteo. It was used
for patrol and escort as well as transportation from base to base.
