Lisa Allen Heath, Supervisor

Lisa is beginning her 31st  year at Dare County Dance. With a multi-generational dancing background, Lisa brings to the program decades of experience and enthusiasm for the art of dance.

In 1924, Lisa’s grandmother, Elisabeth, opened one of the first dancing schools in the Southeast. Located in Charlotte, NC, Elisabeth ran the studio full-time while instructing and choreographing an elite group of dancers “The Carolina Girls” who traveled and performed across the region. Lisa’s mother, Libby, taught dance for over fifty years, igniting Lisa’s passion for dance at an early age. Lisa began teaching and choreographing at the age of 15 with her mother at Libby Allen School of Dance in Elizabeth City, NC. After relocating with her family to the Manteo area, Lisa began her career with Dare County Dance.

Under Lisa’s direction, thousands of Dare County children have enjoyed the opportunity to learn the art of dance over the past 30+ years. Lisa focuses on creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all dance students.
