Dare County Board of Elections
mission is to conduct all elections in a
non-partisan manner with honesty and fairness to all
candidates, issues and citizens.
2009 Election Candidate Information
To
get started please checkout the North
Carolina Finance Manual.
This Manual will assist you with becoming more familiar with
campaign finance laws and procedures.
Once
you have decided to file as a candidate, you should file a
Statement of Organization creating your political committee.
This will allow you to receive Contributions and/or make
expenditures. Please complete one of the two documents below
depending on the amount of money you plan to spend and receive:
Statement of Organization forms are filed with the Dare County
Board of Elections. Before completing the forms, contact the
Dare County Board of Elections to ensure the forms are completed
properly and to answer any questions.

Candidate filing forms
Filing for the 2009 Municipal election begins on Monday, July 6,
2009 at 8:30 AM and ends on Friday, July 17, 2009 at noon. In
accordance with NCGS 163-24, the filing period will end promptly
at noon on July 17, 2009
