The Public Works Departments’
goal is to meet the needs of the citizens of
Dare County in regards to solid waste disposal.
This is achieved through the selling and
delivery of trashcans, resolving sanitation /
recycling problems and enforcing waste disposal
guidelines. We also provide additional services
such as large item pick-up, coordinating support
efforts during adverse weather conditions and
Mosquito Control. This department develops
sanitation and recycling guidelines, procedures,
and schedules and serves to coordinate
operations between other Public Works
departments.
