has been
providing home health services to residents in our community since 1976.
Dare Hospice, Inc. a volunteer non-profit organization joined
with the home health agency of the Dare County Department of Public
Health in June
of 1997, after a community need was identified and our name changed to
Dare Home Health and Hospice, to reflect this additional service. We have grown and expanded over the years to
become Medicare certified for both home health and hospice and are
accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc.
Our last two on-site inspections conducted by a representative
from the State’s Division of Facility Services, Licensure and
Certification section, as the auditing agency for Medicare showed “No
Deficiencies,” a notable accomplishment in today’s healthcare
environment. Our staff are all highly
qualified, competent and professional and have received specialized
training in hospice and other areas of special interest/focus. We make available the following areas of service: Skilled
Nursing, Infusion Nursing, Hospice Nursing, Physical Therapy,
Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Nutrition Therapy, Certified
Nursing Attendants (level II), Hospice Medical Director, Medical Social
Worker, Spiritual Counselor, Bereavement Counselor, Bereavement Group as
well as, Volunteer Services. We
additionally have contract agreements with various health care/service
providers to ensure the most expeditious and efficient access to urgent
medical needs, including: area Hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities,
Durable Medical Equipment companies, and Pharmacies.
Routine services are available during regular business hours,
8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Urgent services are available 24 hours per day,
