The
Dare County Youth Center on Roanoke Island
located in downtown Manteo serves as a safe and fun place
for youth. The center has many things to entertain kids
including gaming systems, a game room with pool table,
foosball and more, computer room, tutoring room, a
library/reading room, arts & crafts room and a music room.
Carolyn Norman, Center Director, has many planned activities
to keep the youth busy after school and while school is out. The
various spaces have been painted bright colors and visitors
will enjoy seeing the beautiful mural that was painted and
donated by artist James Melvin.
The Youth Center is open for middle and high school students

Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 2
