Paying Your Tax Bill

• Pay By Mail

  For income tax and other records, please retain the upper portion of the bill and/or your cancelled check. Due to the cost of postage, receipts will be mailed only if you send a self-addressed stamped envelope. Please retain your cancelled check as proof of payment.
   

• Pay By Phone

  You can pay your Dare County Tax Bill with a credit card by calling toll-free 1.888.272.9829. The jurisdiction code for Dare County is 3955. To use the automated system you will need the 9 digit Parcel Number and the Customer Number from your Tax Bill. If you do not have your bill you can search for your parcel number. Once you have your parcel number, you can find your customer number from the on-line tax bill. A convenience fee equal to 2.75% of the payment amount will be applied to your transaction with a minimum fee of $1.00.
   

• OnLine

  You can pay your Dare County Tax Bill with a credit card online. You will need to search for your bill by the parcel id number, the owner's name or by the property address. A convenience fee equal to 2.75% of the payment amount will be applied to your transaction with a minimum fee of $1.00.
   

• Pay In Person

  You can pay your Dare County Tax Bill in Person at the Dare County Tax Office, located in the Justice Center at 962 Marshall C Collins Dr, Manteo NC. Payments by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, debit cards, checks and cash are accepted with no convenience fees.
   

• Tax Payment Plan

  If you would like to pay your current tax bill in installments download the Tax Payment Plan Form. Payment plans for the current Tax Bills begin July 15 and end December 15. Payment plans are not an option after January 5 when the tax bills become delinquent.
  
  You can make six (6) payments by dividing your total tax bill by 6. Send that amount with each payment form. Please call 252.475.5937 with any questions regarding the payment plan.
