Dare County operates two Transfer Stations. Strategically located in Manns Harbor and Buxton, they provide for the transfer of collected building material and white goods. These two locations have a weigh in station where residents and commercial builders can have waste weighed prior to disposal at the appropriate sites.

These locations also provide local residents a place where they can drop off appliances, metals, home furnishings, and auto tires. This department also participates in other County projects as assigned by the Public Works Director.
