Formerly known as “RWS”, this plant began operation in 1996 and serves the villages of Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo. The JMM Plant’s source water comes from two wells that draw from the Mid-Yorktown Aquifer.

The plant uses the reverse osmosis treatment process and is designed to produce 1.25 million gallons of water per day (1.25 MGD. The Joseph “Mac” Midgett Plant currently serves approximately 1,800 people.
