Charlotte Midgett, Leisure Activities Supervisor with the Northern Beach Division of Parks and Recreation, is the March 2016 Dare County Employee of the Month. Tim White, Public Services Director, presented Midgett with the award at the March 7, 2016 Board of Commissioners meeting.
"Charlotte is a highly motivated, enthusiastic employee. She is confident, caring and always looking forward to the future. She devotes herself to each challenge while keeping her numerous and varied commitments," remarked White.
In her current position, Midgett is lead supervisor for the Northern Beach Division of Parks and Recreation. Her daily duties include planning and managing the recreation and leisure programs. She schedules and organizes practices, games and tournaments for all sports programs while ensuring Dare County fields and facilities throughout Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head are maintained and cleaned on a daily basis. Midgett is also responsible for coordinating the middle and high school after-school programs available at the Youth Center and Family Recreation Park.
Midgett began working for Dare County in 1996 as a Program Coordinator with the Older Adult Services Transportation Department at the Fessenden Center on Hatteras Island. In 1997 she was promoted to Activity Specialist at the Youth Center and Family Recreation Park in Kill Devil Hills. In 2003, Midgett was promoted to Leisure Program Supervisor for the Northern Beach Division.
"Charlotte is amazing at her job. She is invested and cares so much for the people she serves every single day. She makes herself available 7 days a week, at all hours. Her main concern is making sure the kids are safe, active, healthy, treat each other with respect, and are having fun. She goes way above and beyond her job. " remarked a Dare County employee whose family participates in the programs at the Northern Beach Division.
"Charlotte couldn't complete all the tasks she takes on without her coworkers and the success of the workforce she has established over the years at the Northern Beach Division is a testament to her leadership and dedication," remarked White.
