Dare County EMS Hosts Open Houses in Celebration of EMS Week

Post Date:05/15/2018 11:43 AM

The Dare County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution proclaiming May 20 - May 26 as EMS Week. This week is to recognize all members of the Dare County’s EMS teams who stand ready to provide lifesaving care to those in need 24-hours a day, seven days a week.  This year’s national theme is “EMS Strong: Stronger Together.”

To celebrate EMS week and demonstrate their service to the community, Dare County EMS will host open houses to display equipment, offer tours of facilities, perform blood pressure checks, provide educational programs such as Hands Only CPR (non-certification course) and Stop the Bleed Program.  EMS providers will be available to answer any questions about the County’s EMS system and how they protect our citizens and visitors.  Members of the community are encouraged to come by, meet the crews, see the equipment up close, learn critical life-saving skills, and understand more about the services offered by Dare County EMS.  Bring the entire family out and enjoy learning about Dare County EMS.

Open houses will be held on Wednesday, May 23 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm:

Kill Devil Hills Station #1 (1632 North Croatan Hwy)

Manteo Station #2 (515 Bowsertown Rd.)

Buxton/Frisco Station #3 (50346 NC 12 Hwy)
