State Hosts Senior's Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) Town Hall Meeting

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey and the Dare County Older Adult Services invite Medicare beneficiaries to a SHIIP Town Hall Meeting to learn more about Medicare and available cost savings programs.
SHIIP, the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program, is a division of the North Carolina Department of Insurance that provides free unbiased Medicare counseling in all 100 counties of North Carolina.
The Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for August 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center in Kill Devil Hills, N.C. A Medicare 101 class will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public with lunch provided. Participants will have the opportunity to meet Commissioner Causey and local officials to ask questions about Medicare and other insurance issues.
SHIIP has been serving Medicare beneficiaries in North Carolina for more than 30 years and trains volunteer counselors across the state to provide assistance to the Medicare beneficiaries in their home counties.
The Dare County Older Adult Services is the SHIIP counseling site for Dare County. Under the direction of Emily Gould and Brandi Rheubottom, Dare County has 15 trained SHIIP volunteer counselors ready to help their neighbors with their Medicare needs.
The Thomas A. Baum Senior Center is located at 300 Mustian Street, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948.
