Dare County has declared a State of Emergency due to the unprecedented public health threat posed by COVID-19 and determined that restrictions and prohibitions are necessary to protect public health and safety and are also in keeping with the President's Coronavirus Guidelines for America. Dare County Emergency Management is the lead role in preparing for and directing response to major emergencies and disasters , both natural and man-made within Dare County. The Department of Emergency Management is the local community based equivalent of the NC Division of Emergency Management Agency at the State level and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at the Federal level. It works closely with all agencies (public & private) before, during and after emergencies/disasters to provide the coordination of comprehensive protection of lives and property. 


Dare County Emergency Management has a full-time staff that receives specialized training in many varied fields. Like other public safety officials, staff members serve the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

El Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos del Condado de Dare ha lanzado el video # 1 en español COVID-19. Claudia Neal, Interprete principal del Departamento de salud y Servicios Humanos, comenta sobre el primer caso positivo de COVID-19 en el Condado de Dare y cómo la mejor manera de prevenir enfermedades es evitar exponerse al virus.

El video está disponible para ser transmitirdo por el canal de YouTube del Condado de Dare en youtube.com/DareCounty. También se ha compartido en la página de FaceBook del Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos y en la cuenta de Twitter del condado de Dare @DareCountyGovt. El video se transmitirá en el canal gubernamental Current TV 191 para los clientes locales de Spectrum TV.
