11th Annual Dare Soil and Water Conservation District 5th Grade Bookmark Contest

Post Date:06/14/2017 4:23 p.m.

Each school year 5th grade classes in Dare County schools participate in the Dare Soil and Water Conservation District’s Bookmark Contest. Students learn about the importance of conservation of our natural resources and environmental stewardship of Dare County. Students illustrate what they have learned, whether that may be picking up their pet’s waste, reducing pollutants from entering our waterways or not littering. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for each school are selected by the District’s Board of Supervisors. 1st place winners’ bookmark is printed and distributed to all students in the winner’s school and the surrounding community. Winners receive prizes donated by local businesses.
