2017 Class Descriptions
BootCampHI: (high intensity) A total body workout in the sand! We use the soft sand, mini bands, agility hurdles, battle ropes and OUR BODIES to create the ultimate outdoor workout. Everything is better on the beach!
Boot Camp: (high intensity) A forty-five minute fitness boot camp in a group physical training atmosphere designed to build strength and cardiovascular fitness through a variety of intense group intervals.
POUND - Rockout. Workout.®: (varied intensity) Channel your inner rockstar with this full-body cardio jam session inspired by the infectious, sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted exercise drumsticks, torch calories and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique – all while rocking out to your favorite music!
Dance Fitness: (medium-high intensity) Choreographed dance involving repetitive movements set to music. This 45 minute session combines the benefits of exercise and the fun of dancing. No prior dance experience necessary.
Strength & Sculpt: (medium-high intensity) A combo lifting/toning class featuring a mix of bodyweight, dumbbells, stability balls and resistance bands to sculpt and tone the body. This class works you Head to Toe!
Turn & Burn: (medium intensity) Participants in this class will rotate between cardiovascular equipment and circuit type training for a complete 45 minute workout.
Barre Burn: (medium intensity) A ballet inspired class that includes a mix of elements from Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training. The class will utilize a barre and exercise equipment such as medicine balls, Bosu equipment, resistance bands and hand weights in combination with body weight exercises in order to improve balance, range of motion, strength, flexibility, and balance. No dance experience required.
Cardio Variety: (varied intensity) Class formats will vary each week. Formats will vary from a low choreographed combinations and sequences format to Cardio kick (kick & punch sequences), military style format containing easy to follow marching and drills and a Cardio Interval format. This is a one hour class.
Step Plus: (varied intensity) A one hour class that begins with easy to follow movements on a step bench (intensity determined by the size of movements and/or the use of risers); and will conclude with a variety of segments to work core, and strength.
Balance & Core: (low intensity) This one hour class will focus on strengthening your core muscles, improve balance, and increase flexibility using varied equipment; bending pilates, yoga, and traditional.
Senior Fitness: (low intensity) A forty-five minute session specifically for the older adult designed to improve strength, cardiovascular endurance, range of motion, and improve overall functioning of the body. The goal of this class is to better enable the participant in the day to day activities of life.
Yoga: (varied intensity) A practice of fluidic movement between postures, guided by and linked through breathing. This class combines basic and advanced poses while offering modifications. This class is a great way to improve balance, strengthen core muscles and increase flexibility. All levels are encouraged!
Restorative Yoga: A practice of postures held for an extended period of time so the body relaxes. Props are used to support the body and help release the muscles ensuring a deeper relaxation. Class begins with seated stretches to warm the body and prepare for the restorative poses.
Water Aerobics: (low-medium intensity) Each class provides the exerciser with the benefits of water resistance through muscle strengthening and cardiovascular endurance in a low-impact workout with a number of different movements aimed at increasing flexibility, strength and cardiovascular fitness.
