    It is imperative that everyone in Dare County follow the Stay Home - Stay Healthy order and restrict all non-essential movement. Only go out when absolutely necessary. Practice social distancing by staying a minimum of 6 feet away from others, other than immediate family members.

TO APPLY FOR AN ENTRY PERMIT

Due to high demand for the online entry permitting system, some users have experienced difficulties applying for entry permits. We apologize for the inconvenience. No one will be denied entry with proper identification. Click the link below to apply for a permit, or provide the requested documents in lieu of a permit for entry. 

In lieu of an entry permit, permanent residents of Dare, Currituck, Hyde, and Tyrrell counties will be allowed entry with:

  • a valid NC driver’s license with a Dare, Currituck, Hyde, or Tyrrell county address

  • A government-issued identification card with a local address

This also applies to those from Currituck, Hyde, and Tyrrell counties who need to enter Dare County to conduct business, work or attend medical appointments. No one from Dare, Currituck, Hyde, and Tyrrell County will be denied entry with proper identification.

  • Retrieve your previously completed business permit application to add/maintain and issue permits for your employees here.
  • Reprint individual permits for employees already entered into the system by a business owner/manager here. If the employee provides an email address it will be sent there. If the email address is left blank the permit will be emailed to the business owner/manager.

In lieu of an entry permit, non-resident employees may show documentation providing proof of employment such as:

  • pay stubs

  • employee identification badges
