Visitors to Dare County and the Currituck Outer Banks requesting documentation of travel restrictions for insurance purposes may download the "Hurricane Florence State of Emergency Declarations" document (pdf).

If you need alternate documentation, after the storm has passed, please contact Dare County Emergency Management at 252.475.5655 during regular office hours 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Motorists can expect single lane closures while dune repairs are made and short and frequent closures of both lanes to allow for the safe movement of personnel working on the dunes.

The N.C. Department of Transportation is warning motorists along the Outer Banks to expect portions of N.C. 12 to be closed for extended periods during high tide cycles over the next few days as a storm system lingers off the Atlantic coast.
