The wastewater treatment personnel are in charge of the operation of a low-pressure pipe system at the Dare County Detention Center, oversee the ground water and gas monitoring programs at the Stumpy Point C & D and East Lake Landfill, monitors a low-pressure pipe system at the Dare County satellite office in Kill Devil Hills, monitors the Wastewater Lift Station at the College of Albemarle, Manteo campus, operates the Stumpy Point Wastewater Treatment plant, and monitors samples taken during any de-watering of a pit area performed by the county.
