  • Are You Okay?

    The Are You Okay? program is a free telephone reassurance system from the Dare County Sheriff's Office that is designed to call the home of the registered individual at a time specified by the individual to ensure that the person is OK. The targeted subscribers are the elderly, handicapped and the home bound to ensure the individual is well enough to answer the phone. .

  • Veterans I.D. Card for Local Discounts

    A number of local business throughout Dare County offer discounts to veterans if they show their Dare County Veteran I.D. card. To determine if you are eligible, contact Veterans Advisory Council Member, Marsha Brown at 252.202.2058

  • Emergency Alerts

    Dare County Emergency Management now has the ability to send emergency alerts via text, email or phone call to residents, visitors and nonresident property owners. New users can sign up at www.darenc.com/emergencyalerts. Signing up is quick, easy and secure. 

  • ATTN: Homeowners in Unincorporated Dare County

    Dare County received an increase in CRS ranking which will result in a 15% discount in the premium cost of flood insurances for NFIP policies issued or renewed in flood zones for unincorporated Dare County on or after May 1.

  • Dare to Scare 5k & Sweet Treat Run

    Join your friends at the Dare County Center in Manteo on Saturday, October 28 for the 1st Annual Dare to Scare 5k and Sweet Treat Run. All proceeds will benefit the Dare County Center's Annual Toy Drive.  The 3.1 mile course begins at the Coastal Studies Institute and ends at the Dare County Center.
